Manifestation (2019)
About Piece
This piece was selected in June 2019 for the 4th season of the Reza Korourian Award Electroacoustic Music Composition Competition (RKC 2019) and was performed at the 3rd Tehran International Electronic Music Festival (TIEMF 2019). Unfortunately, due to visa issues, accordionist Eva Zöllner couldn’t travel to Iran, so our rehearsals were conducted online. The final file is the result of these rehearsals.
In 2018, I also participated in the Reza Korourian Award composition competition with a piece called “Camouflage.” At that time, my main concern was exploring the concept of camouflage in music. However, in 2019, I decided to focus on the opposite meaning of camouflage for a new piece. “Manifestation” in this piece is an event that occurs in its last three minutes. Here, the accordion improvises over a bed of pre-recorded sounds (which she had previously played and were edited by computer). In this section of the piece, the live electronics also improvise, but their aim is not to hide the instrument’s sound but rather to respond to it.
Performance
The final file of this piece was performed at a concert on the eighth day of the festival (June 26, 2019) in Avini Hall at the University of Tehran.

The piece “Manifestation” was released in 2021 on the CD titled “Remember” by the Yarava Music Group, alongside works by other winners of this competition.
